Welcome to OT Walleye Guys
The OT Walleye Guys, Jeff Dougherty and Dave Jennings, have been chasing walleye together on the Missouri River and other bodies of water for many years. The OT stands for OverTime Sports Grill & Bar, which they co-own together in Sioux Falls, SD.
The guys have fished several local tournaments together over the years. In 2015 the guys formed OT Walleye Guys, LLC with the purpose of expanding their tournament fishing. In 2015 they were named to the Pro Staff Team for Stratos Boats. They also notched their first tournament victory under the new name. They won the Beal Dist. Invitational on Lake Sharpe, SD on August 29th and also took home the award for biggest walleye.
Due to continued high water on the Missouri River this year, the guys scheduled tournament in Platte was cancelled. We decided to head up the river farther North and try our luck in the Denny Palmer Memorial Tournament on Lake Oahe at Mobridge, SD. This was our first year competing in this event that featured 107 boats.
Due to sustained 30 mph plus sustained winds on Friday, we were not able to get any pre-fishing in. So we set off on the tournament day completely blind. We were lucky enough to find some quality fish and came in 13th place and cashed a check for the first time this season. This placing also qualified us for the Northern Oahe Series $30k Championship on the same water on July 26,27th.
On June 8, 2017 Jeff was selected and signed his National Pro Staff contract with Cabela’s. I am extremely excited to be chosen to this very prestigious position. Dave and I have long used Cabela’s products and are looking forward to representing the company in a more formal manner. I am very honored to be a member of team Cabela’s and will be representing the brand in all tournaments, public appearances, etc. We begin by adding the well-known logo here and will soon have it incorporated into all our tournament wear.
Congratulations to Stratos Pros Jeff Dougherty & Dave Jennings on their victory in the Mason’s Walleye Classic Invitational on Lake Oahe in South Dakota. Despite 25 mph sustained winds, Jeff and Dave were able to maintain boat control and fish points other teams could not. The veteran Stratos pros were able to hold onto their day 1 lead for the victory, beating the second place team by a narrow 1.5 lbs. Great job Jeff and Dave!
Our first fishing report is from Lake Francis Case in Chamberlain, SD. Click on the Fishing Reports menu to read in full detail.
Congratulations to Stratos Pros Jeff Dougherty & Dave Jennings, and Jeff’s wife Stacy Dougherty on their victory in The Beal Invitational on Lake Sharpe in South Dakota this past weekend. There were 22 teams in this 3-person-team tournament. Despite 30 to 40 mph sustained winds, Jeff, Dave and Stacy were able to bring in a full limit and come away with a 2 lb. victory of the 2nd place team. Great job!
